Messenger
Isaiah 6:8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
"We are the Messengers, the Messengers of God. Our purpose is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through our music and our actions". This is the creed of the Messengers, the high school choir I was a member of when I was in 9th and 10th grade while my father was stationed in Germany. We said this before every practice and performance, and hopefully through the songs we sang, from "On the Rock" to "God, the Lilies and Me", to "Surrender", the people in the audience heard His Word and our message.
Messengers come in all shapes, sizes, and voices. It is a butterfly flying by with the spirit of your niece, it may be a bouquet of flowers that remind you of your Grandmother, it could be a group of teenagers in matching white sweaters singing slightly off key. Our Lord uses us to be messengers for others and others to send us messages. It is our job to slow down to hear that voice of the Lord and listen to what he is trying to say. And as Christians, it is our job to spread that message to others. We are His Messengers, through a smile, a hug or a warm cup of coffee. We are so lucky to have so many different ways to share the Lord's message of love as well as hear it for ourselves.
During this Advent season, be a Messenger, answer his call and say "Here I am"! Talk to a coworker about what the Christmas season means to you, hold the door with a smile for a stranger struggling to get through the day or make memories with your family by donating your time to help those less fortunate. Our Dear God, we are here! Faith Dean #messenger #adventword
