Our vision for Youth at St. Luke’s is youth who lead in the Episcopal tradition and know they are beloved children of God.

Our Mission: St. Luke’s on the Lake youth ministry gathers in a safe, compassionate community to play games, worship, and grow as faithful disciples together.

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. ~ 1 Timothy 4:12

worship

The Acolyte Ministry provides support for our worship services. Youth carry the crosses, candles, and flags so important in our worship tradition. They also help the priests at the altar. Every year, this ministry is one of the most cited by our seniors due to its powerful impact on student's lives. Please contact Kym Hall, our Acolyte Director, here if you are interested in getting involved.

Volunteer

Volunteers in Youth Ministries – We can’t run Youth Ministries without the support of adult volunteers who “get” youth. If you're feeling called towards Youth Ministry, or just want to know what it looks like to volunteer with our youth program, contact LoriAnn Lavallee.

Required Trainings

Safeguarding God’s Children – This program insures that our children, youth, and adults are aware of and protected from abuse. All volunteers and staff are required to take 2 hours of training on this topic and have a current background check on file with the church in order to serve in children or youth programs.

Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) We are the community in the church for 6th - 12th graders and the adults that volunteer their time and love for these great kids. We learn how Christ can be a part of our lives and how we can share that with those around us. We talk about the realities of our lives: going to school, tensions with our families, our relationships with our friends, and how our faith plays into all of that and more. We usually meet on Sunday afternoons once a month as a whole group, and in separate smaller groups throughout the month at varying times. Contact Jacob here to learn more about what is happening now, or check our calendar here.

Go

Mission Trips – These are the journeys we take together to do the work that God has for us. Every summer our Middle School and High School groups go out with a heart ready for service, dedicated to reaching out to those in the communities that we travel to. During Covid, we have served local communities in need of our service during our 2021 Youth Mission Stay (rather than a Mission "Trip." Get it?) Whether trips or stays, it is a time of works, fun, spiritual highs, and group bonding like no other. The memories from these trips are shared for years after, the impact on someone else’s life may last even longer.
